It is often difficult to find a truly luxurious cottage which will accept dogs, let alone more than one. You live in a lovely home, why would you want to go on holiday to a place that is less comfortable than your own home.
Both you and your dogs want to be spoilt on your holidays - that is after all why you work as hard as you do, so can you can take wonderful holidays in beautiful luxury dog friendly cottages and be able to enjoy exploring new places together. This was why we built The 3 Luxury pet friendly Quantock Cottages and tailored them to fit the needs of both the two and four footed guests. We are very used to catering for those dogs who have often had a bad start in life (over 90% of our canine guests are rescue people) and thus have extra special needs. This is why each garden is well fenced. The Quantock Hills are very quiet and if you see another person whilst out walking it would be a rarity - this is after all why this area is known as the hidden gem of England.
At our luxury pet friendly cottages our canine guests seem to settle in to their new "home" very quickly as they understand that it is a place that loves having them to stay. On arrival, if they look on the dining table (and please don't tell them as it will ruin the surprise) they will find little gifts and a welcome card waiting for them from our dogs. There are water bowls and a dog beds as well for them. The local pet food shop can deliver your own brand food to your luxury holiday home, which will save you car space.
If your dogs like to sit on the sofas, that is no problem, all we ask is that you bring lots of blankets to cover them. We do ask that dogs do not go onto the beds. The linen and bed covers are very expensive and impossible to remove dog hair from. With wall to wall heating and a lovely log burning stove to lounge in front of, there is no better place for a dog who has been out busy exploring the local pet friendly beaches and moors.
One of the joys of being on holiday at the romantic luxury self-catering Quantock Cottages in Somerset is that the gardens of each cottage are not only sizable but they are completely enclosed so the dogs can have fun exploring while you relax. We would never say the gardens are completely secure - where there is a will and all that. But over the years we have had many canine guests both small and large and the gardens have contained them.
From the pet friendly enclosed gardens the Quantock Hills are literally steps away and with over 9,500 acres you and the dogs can have days of exploring without ever having the need to cross your tracks. For those who have mud loving woofies, worry not, each of the 3 luxury dog friendly cottages have doggie "spa" areas which have outside hot and cold showers and even built in doggie baths - how cool is that!
Just some of our canine guests who have stayed with us. The first image is however one of our poor long sufering GSD's!
If you are worried that when walking on the open Quantock Hills your woofies might chase livestock or that they might just have too much fun exploring and might not want to come back when called, we have a purpose built 3/4 acre enclosed canine woodland play zone complete with an agility course for our doggie guests to enjoy. The fencing is full stock height and has 2 strangs of 16 guage wire on top of as well.
So if you just want to toss a ball, or you want some space to do some serious dog training, or perhaps just have fun hanging out with your bestie trying your hand and their paws at agility you can do this secure in the knowledge that this large play area is completely enclosed and is only 2 minutes from your cottage.
Kilve beach which is at the bottom of the lane is dog friendly year round, as are all of the other beaches in Somerset. What could be more fun than staying in a truly luxury cottage which is pet friendly and strolling along beaches looking for fossils or rambling along the beautiful cliff tops just drinking in the fantastic views. For long stretches of sandy beaches
Both The Hood Arms which is at the end of the lane and and also the Plough In at Holford are within walking distance and are dog friendly.
There is nothing quite as comforting as watching the four footed family members dozing in front of a real wood burning fire at the end of a busy and fun day of exploring a new area with their human parents. Each of the three luxury dog-friendly Quantock Cottages have log burners for exactly this occasion.
Being dog owners we understand that for many a UK holiday without the "fur kids" is no holiday at all. Thus our three unique luxury self-catering cottages with private hot tubs, open fires and enclosed gardens are totally dog friendly and welcome up to 3 dogs per cottage, and possibly more on request.
