3 Luxury Cottages Which Are Dog Friendly | For Dogs
Being dog owners we understand that for many a UK holiday without the "fur kids" is no holiday at all. Thus our three unique luxury dog friendly cottages which are located at the top of Somerset’s majestic Quantock Hills - a place where ancient woodland meets wild Jurassic coastline welcome up to 3 dogs per cottage and more possible on request. These detached private luxurious cottages welcome all breeds of dogs. They have glorious sea views, enclosed gardens and private hot tubs so you don't have to substitute luxury when on holiday with your pets, the two can happily go paw in hand. If you dream of a coastal break with strolls along dog-friendly beaches or brisk walks on the open moors, our Quantock Cottages will delight both you and your dogs.
"Arriving late on our first night we opened the door to the cottage and the beautiful scent of lemon and geranium, flickering candles, soft music, bubbles and cake set the scene for what was in store for us for our dog holiday of a life time. The cottage is amazing the area stunning and everywhere is so dog friendly " Roger & Debbie 9th Nov 2018.
Each sumptuous cottage which sleep up to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, combines the perks of a boutique hotel with the independence, space and style of an indulgent country home. Whether you are a couple searching for a romantic luxury cottage getaway, or a larger family group looking to celebrate in style, we provide the perfect dog-friendly country cottage. Each one of our 3 luxury cottages is unique and over 80% of our custom comes from returning guests and of new guests the majority are from word-of-mouth referrals. Our dog guests have their own spa, a large enclosed garden which backs on to 9,000 acres of moorland - perfect for walkies. The dog-friendly beach is close and we have an enclosed woodland playground with agility course for their enjoyment. They are also able to relax in the knowledge that they are in place that does not just tolerate but genuinely loves having them to stay and everything has been designed around their needs.
It is often difficult to find a truly luxurious cottage which will accept dogs, let alone more than one. You live in a lovely home, why would you want to go on holiday to a place that is less comfortable than your own home.
Both you and your dogs want to be spoilt on your holidays - that is after all why you work as hard as you do, so can you can take wonderful holidays in beautiful luxury dog friendly cottages and be able to enjoy exploring new places together. This was why we built the 3 Luxury pet friendly Quantock Cottages and tailored them to fit the needs of both 2 and 4 footed guests.
"This has been our first time to the Quantocks and what a beautiful location. Emma & Simon have thought about everything any doggie family needs and all the little extras and treats have made the stay extra special. The countryside and beach walks have been stunning." Clare John & Bonita May 2019
At our luxury pet friendly cottages our canine guests seem to settle in to their new "home" very quickly as they understand that it is a place that loves having them to stay. On arrival, if they look on the dining table (and please don't tell them as it will ruin the surprise) they will find:
Little gifts and a welcome card waiting for them from our dogs.
A special drink
An "I am on holiday" pet tag with flashing light, which they can attach to their own collar. This pet tag has the cottage post code and our telephone numbers, just in case they were to find themselves separated from you.
Also in the cottage they will find their own personalised "doggie dining area" which has:
Water bowls and the local pet food shop can deliver your own brand food to your luxury holiday home, which will save you car space.
In their welcome hamper they will find:
Easie dry towel
If your dogs like to sit on the sofas, that is no problem, all we ask is that you bring lots of blankets to cover them.
There is nothing quite as comforting as watching the fur-babies dozing in front of a real wood burning fire at the end of a busy and fun day of exploring a new area with their human parents. Each of the three luxury dog-friendly Quantock Cottages have log burners for exactly this occasion.
What a wonderful cottage hidden away in a stunning setting. It's rare to find such 5* treatment for humans aswell as pets. What I love most about this place is the stories, the love and attention to detail. Emma & Simon are truely stars in holiday lets and we have stayed in many... we will be back' - March 2019

Each of the cottage gardens are large, fully enclosed, private and just for youur use. We have purpose built doggie gates to section off each of your garden "rooms" so you can choose how much or how little garden space you would like for your dogs to enjoy. We are used to catering for those dogs who have often had a bad start in life (over 90% of our canine guests are rescue people) and thus have extra special needs. This is why each garden is well fenced.
For those who have mud loving woofies each of the 3 luxury dog friendly cottages have doggie "spa" areas which have outside hot and cold showers and even built in doggie baths - how cool is that!
"Our 10th visit to these cottages. Have tried them all and just can't decide which we love more as they are all so individual and beautiful" June 2019, Nicky & Paul and the 3 naughty woofies
One of the joys of being on holiday at the romantic luxury self-catering Quantock Cottages in Somerset is that the gardens of each cottage are not only sizable but they are completely enclosed so the dogs can have fun exploring while you relax. We would never say the gardens are completely secure - where there is a will and all that. But over the years we have had many canine guests both small and large and the gardens have contained them.
There is nothing like being able to just open the front door to let the woofers out while you perhaps potter back to bed to catch up on that much needed sleep, secure in the knowledge that your fur-babies will be enjoying themselves just as much in their garden.
From the pet friendly enclosed gardens the Quantock Hills are literally steps away and with over 9,500 acres you and the dogs can have days of exploring without ever having the need to cross your tracks.
"Wow what a wonderful and beautiful cottage and surrounding. We have had a very relaxing time and have loved the garden and hot tub and our dog has enjoyed all his walks on the Quantocks and the local beaches. We shall tell our friends and family all about it."Ian, Michelle and Ernie. August 2018
To explore the Enclosed Dog Zone please scroll to the top and go to the Dog Zone Section
If you are worried that when walking on the open Quantock Hills your woofies might chase livestock or that they might just have too much fun exploring and might not want to come back when called, we have a purpose built 3/4 acre enclosed canine woodland play zone complete with an agility course for our doggie guests to enjoy.
The fencing is full stock height and has 2 strands of 16 gauge wire on top of as well. So if you just want to toss a ball, or you want some space to do some serious dog training, or perhaps just have fun hanging out with your bestie trying your hand and their paws at agility you can do this secure in the knowledge that this area is enclosed.
"The tranquility, beauty and zen we have experienced here at this wonderful cottage far out-weighs anything a therapist could offer to overcome the rigours of working life - even our lab has got his bounce back" Ralaph, Dawn & Tyler May 2019
For those who like to walk, ride or MTB, the 9,500 acres of Quantock Hills are quite literally at the end of your the garden. They are steeped in history, myth and legend and are staggeringly beautiful.
With a mix of open moorland and deep stream laced wooded coombes, wildlife is in abundance. Deer, sheep and wild ponies roam freely while high in the mackerel skies birds of prey fly on the shimmering thermals.
The Quantock Hills are quiet and if you see another person whilst out walking it would be a rarity.
At the end of a days exploring your luxury cottage will be awaiting you as will the bubbling hot tub - allow the hydrotherapy to work its magic restoring body, soul and mind whilst listening to the background music supplied courtesy of the local bird life.
The majority of beaches in Somerset are pet friendly year round. It is only Minehead beach that has a summer restriction on it. But the next door large sandy beach of Dunster is dog friendly all year as is our local Kilve beach.
"Such an amazing welcome and such a beautiful cottage with equally stunning setting. Our dogs loved it. We have all felt utterly relaxed and the fresh air has done us the world of good. This place came highly recommended and we can see why. We will be back for sure!" Andy & Diane, Riley & Rogue May 2019
Pictures tell a million word and in this lovely gallery you will see just a few of our dog guests who have stayed at our Quantock Cottages and as you can see, they appear to have made themselves very much at home.
For the out and about photos that they sent in again you will be able to see the fun that they are having in this truly special area, which really is doggie heaven. You will also be able to see that we really do mean it when we say that we welcome every breed of dog no matter how little or how large.
