Welcome to our Quantock Cottages in Somerset
We're Emma & Simon, and 16 years ago we created Quantock Cottages because we couldn't find the kind of luxury holiday we wanted to take with our own dogs.
So, rather unusually, we decided to create it ourselves.
Today, our cottages sit within our private country estate, surrounded by the Quantock Hills we love. We've designed everything around the things that matter to us: beautiful surroundings, privacy, wonderful places to stay and, above all, somewhere dogs can genuinely be themselves.
We still live here, and we still love welcoming our guests personally. So when you arrive, you're not simply checking into a holiday cottage – you're coming to stay with us.
What We Have & What Makes Us Different
We didn't set out to create another collection of holiday cottages. We wanted to create somewhere we'd actually want to escape to ourselves:
Somewhere beautiful enough to feel luxurious, private enough to feel special and genuinely wonderful for dogs.

We know who really decides whether a holiday was good or not... The dogs. And ours are the same.
Your dogs are our guests too! From the moment you arrive, they can expect freedom, space and plenty of adventures, with secure places to run, miles of beautiful countryside to explore and a peaceful home-from-home to relax in afterwards.
Our gardens are enclosed with 6ft fencing, giving your dogs plenty of freedom to enjoy the outdoors.
This year alone we have hosted over 250 doggie guests and they have all been safely contained.
Our three private dog exercise fields are exclusively for our guests, giving your dogs the freedom to run, explore and enjoy off-lead adventures.
With two agility courses and a beautiful 2-acre enclosed woodland, there's plenty to discover.
Your dogs can run, explore and get wonderfully close to nature – all within their own private space, away from the public.
We understand that holidays can be challenging for nervous and reactive dogs – which is why we created our Quantock Cottages with them in mind.
Most of our dog guests are nervous or reactive, so our peaceful, private spaces are designed to give them freedom, confidence and the chance to simply be dogs, without the worry of busy town environments.
This isn't a holiday park or a collection of cottages dropped into a development.
It's our home.
We've spent years creating a place where we love living, surrounded by countryside, woodland and the Quantock Hills.
And we're delighted to share it with guests who appreciate the same peace, privacy and beauty that made us fall in love with it.
9,000 acres of beautiful countryside are waiting at the end of the garden.
Walk, run, hike, cycle, explore – or simply find a quiet spot and sit for a while.
It's wonderfully peaceful here, which is one of the reasons our nervous and reactive dog guests love it so much.
And when you've had enough adventure, the coast is just down the road.

Our three dog-friendly cottages are genuine homes-from-home, full of character, warmth and those little touches that make a stay feel special.
And for something a little different, La Caravane offers a luxurious woodland glamping experience, with all the comforts you could wish for.
Dogs are very much part of the family here. They are welcome throughout our properties, including on the furniture, and every retreat has its own private, purpose-built 6ft enclosed garden where they can enjoy some freedom outside.
Then there are our three private dog exercise fields, created especially for our guests. They are exclusively for dogs staying at Coleridge, Greenway, The Quantock Hide and La Caravane, with no public access.
Our 2-acre enclosed woodland gives them the chance to run, sniff and explore surrounded by nature.
Because we know how difficult busy environments can be for nervous and reactive dogs, our private country estate is deliberately peaceful.
With just two elderly horses and no other farm animals, there are fewer of the everyday triggers that can make a holiday stressful.
For the humans, there are romantic hot tubs, cosy open fires, beautiful interiors and plenty of opportunities to simply slow down and enjoy being together.
Our location on the Quantock Hills, close to the Somerset coast and within easy reach of London and the Midlands, makes us a wonderful base for countryside adventures, coastal walks and relaxing short breaks.
Above all, Simon and I want you to feel that you are coming to stay with us, rather than simply booking a holiday cottage.
We don't use third-party agencies, and our guests – both two-legged and four-legged – are genuinely important to us. With around 75% of our guests choosing to return. An average year-on-year occupancy rate of 98% we hope that says something about the experience we have created.

A: Yes they do. Currently, La Caravane glamping retreat does not
Q: How many dogs do you allow per cottage
A: 3 but more are possible on request. For La Caravane it is strictly limited to 2

A: Each cottage sleeps up to 4 guests + a babe in arms in two bedrooms
Q: How many people does La Caravane luxury dog friendly glamping in the UK sleep?
A: 2 Adults. This accommodation is not suitable for those under 14 years old
Q: Are there any Somerset Dog Friendly beaches around
A: Yes. Kilve beach is just 1.5 miles away. The nearest dog friendly sandy beaches are just a short drive.
Q: We are a multi generational party for 8 and 6 dogs which two of your cottages would best suit us
A: Coleridge & Greenway would be our suggestion as although detached they are adjacent to each other and there is a "secret" gate that we can open in the fence line which allows both gardens to run together and allows for easy access to both properties.
Q: We are a party of 12 can we take all 3 of your luxury dog friendly Somerset cottages
A: Yes of course you can!

A: Yes we do. We have two. The highly rated Hood Arms at the bottom of Pardlestone Lane and the Plough Inn at Holford.
